History

My father Dick Roberts started the Last Resort in 1947. I took over the Outfitting operations in 1971. We offer hunting camps in the Wyoming Range, which is noted for Big Bull Elk, Monster Mule Deer, and Enormous Bull Moose. Most of the hunting is done from horses, but 4X4, and mules are used according to the hunt. We hunt from the Ranch Headquarters, which borders The Bridger Teton National Forest, and from a remote Base Camp.
How Tough Are Our Hunts?

WOW! 55inch main beams!

On some of our hunts you will be staying right at the ranch house with us. You will have hot showers and eat home style meals with our family. When we stay at our base camp you will be staying in comfortable tents, but in comparison to the staying at the Ranch you'll be "Roughing It". We try to gear our hunts to our clients ability, for that once in a lifetime trophy. The use of Horses, 4-wheel drive trucks, preseason scouting, knowledgeable guides, plentiful game, and the kind of country we hunt usually provides successfull hunts. Some of the hunting can be really physically demanding, and everyone must be able to ride a horse fairly well. We have guided clients in their teens and in their 70's and have had very good success, however we have a saying at The Last Resort, " The only thing we guarantee is a SORE BACKSIDE if you keep up". Anyone born on or after January 1,1966, must possess and can exhibit a Hunter Saftey certificate. Anyone having special needs will be matched up with the right guide. The pace of the hunt will be geared to accommodate you on your western hunt.

Hunters should furnish the following:
Guns and Ammo
Waterproof Boots
Licenses
Personal Items
Rain Gear
Warm Clothing
Flashlight and Batteries
4lb Sleeping Bags (for those in Base Camp)
